Knight: We are in safe hands

England women’s captain Heather Knight has said that her team are safe and being well looked after in Jamaica as the island prepares for the arrival of Hurricane Matthew tomorrow. The England women’s squad arrived in Montego Bay in the northern part of Jamaica on Friday evening, ahead of the first of a five-match One-Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies, which is due to get underway at Trelawny Stadium on Saturday. “At the moment there is a bit of uncertainty about how hard Hurricane Matthew is going to hit the island, but having seen all the weather reports over the last couple of days, we are aware that this is a serious event,” said Knight. England Physical Disability name squad for Dubai

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today announced a 15-man Physical Disability squad for the upcoming T20 tournament in Dubai. England Physical Disability will head to Dubai later this month to compete in the ICC Academy Dubai Invitational T20 tournament for people with physical disability. The competition, which runs from 19 to 25 October, will see Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England and Pakistan compete for the prize. The England squad will be looking to defend the title they won in Bangladesh last year. The side will again be captained by Iain Nairn and includes three uncapped players; Lee Clarke, Joe Seabridge and Lee Walker. ECB and Durham agree financial package

The England and Wales Cricket Board today announced that Durham County Cricket Club has accepted an offer of significant additional financial support from ECB in order to manage current and historic debt and revenue issues. ECB has been working with the Board and Chief Executive of the County and its stakeholders throughout 2016 in order to ensure that Durham could address their financial issues. This support has included advancing an annual fee payment of £1.294 million. There has been no direct investment to date.
