Billy Horschel beat Jason Day in a playoff to win the 2017 AT&T Byron Nelson for his first victory since the 2014 Tour Championship.

The American won the FedEx Cup in 2014 and has moved back into the world’s top 50. He’s up to 44th from 76th.

“It’s really surreal,” he said.

“I’m sort of speechless… I was never a fan of this course but now I am and I won and I don’t want to leave.”

Horschel signed for Parsons Xtreme Golf in January 2016 – A premium golf equipment company formed by Bob Parsons, the founder of GoDaddy.

“Making money is not what I have in mind,” Parsons said.

“My goal with this is to build some very incredible clubs without regard to cost, without regard to the process. I’ve been telling people what I’m doing and I’ve heard many times, ‘You’re nuts.’ That’s a very good sign.”

Parsons hired Mike Nicolette and Brad Schweigert who were former Ping engineers, and Billy Horschel previously played Ping clubs.

Horschel used a full bag of PXG clubs to win the AT&T Byron Nelson, as well as the new Pro V1x ball and FootJoy shoes and glove.

He came into the week off the back of three missed cuts but held his nerve to win after holing an incredible 450 feet of putts during the tournament.

He uses the PXG Bat Attack mallet putter.
