Bubba Watson had a storming season in 2018 with three victories at the Genesis Open, WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play and the Travelers Championship.

This excellent string of results came after one of the biggest equipment stories of last year when Bubba ended his multi-year deal with Volvik in November 2017.

He switched back to the Titleist Pro V1x and found the winners circle quickly, but what will he put in the bag for the 2019 season? We take a look.

Bubba plays a full bag of Ping products.

His driver is the Ping G400 LST in the classic Bubba pink and the American has it with a low 7.6° of loft, perfect for hitting those power fades.

The LST stands for ‘Low spin technology’ – to help fast swingers keep the ball down.

He ranked 6th on the PGA Tour last season in driving distance with an average of 313 yards. He was also 2nd in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee, emphasising his ball striking prowess.

When he won in February at Riviera last year, he went straight from his driver to a Ping G hybrid in 19° of loft, a whole 11° gap between driver and hybrid with no 3 wood.

However, it appears that Bubba has put the Ping G400 3-wood in the bag for now.

The American has recently switched his irons from the Ping S55’s to the Ping Blueprint irons from 3-PW.

The 39-year-old carries three Ping Glide 2.0 wedges in 52°, 56° and 60° of loft. They also have the distinctive stamping of ‘Bubba’s Sweet Spot’ on them signifying his ownership of a sweet shop.
