A guide to the eleventh hole at Erin Hills ahead of the 2017 US Open
Erin Hills Hole By Hole Guide: Hole 11
Hole 11 – Par 4 – 403 yards
After a number of demanding holes, the 11th provides a bit of a breather as one of the shortest par 4s on the course.
A good tee shot into the forgiving fairway can gather tee shots and the approach is usually just a pitch from around 100 yards.
However, care still needs to be taken with the small green that slopes from left to right, with a large bunker positioned just off the right edge.
The back nine presents a variety of challenges and not just the stereotypical long par 4s seen on most championship courses.
