We take a look at the gear Francesco Molinari used to win at Bay Hill.
Francesco Molinari What’s In The Bag?
It was a momentous year for Francesco Molinari in 2018, a year in which he secured his first Major title at the Open Championship, before securing the Race to Dubai and a historic five points from five matches at the Ryder Cup.
You would think after a year like that, the last thing a pro would want to do is change their clubs but that is exactly what Molinari has done, signing with Callaway. He immediately put the new clubs to good use too as he was able to shoot 64 in the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational to win by two strokes from Matthew Fitzpatrick.
Below we take an in-depth look at what the Italian puts in his bag.
Historically the Italian has played Nike clubs and despite not having an equipment contract, he pretty much had TaylorMade sticks throughout his bag last year. It would have been easy to assume that he would continue that set up however he shocked many at the Sentry Tournament of Champions arriving with Callaway clubs in the bag. Since then Molinari has signed a multi-year deal that will see the Italian put Callaway woods, irons, wedges and ball in play along with an Odyssey putter.

One of the strongest parts of his game is his straight driving and he will look to continue that whilst using the new Callaway Epic Flash Sub Zero Driver. The headline feature of their new club is the Flash Face which has been designed using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Using thousands of simulations the computer put together a final design that has a ripple effect within the head. For more information on all the technology, click here.

The younger Molinari brother has used TaylorMade M3 and M4 fairway woods in the past but has now put a Callaway Epic Flash model in the bag.
Regarding utilities and hybrids, Molinari has put the Callaway X Forged utility iron in the bag as the video above suggests, but he has also shown a liking to the Callaway Apex Hybrid which he used during the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Molinari is incredibly consistent at finding the dance floor with his irons. Previously a TaylorMade P750 player, the Italian put Callaway’s Apex MB irons in the bag for the week in Hawaii and he appeared to be a huge fan of them thanks to their feedback off the face. It looks as if he has gone with a set from 5-PW. His 4-iron is the new Callaway Apex Pro model.
