The golfing world paid tribute to Bryson DeChambeau's sensational US Open victory at Winged Foot...

How Social Media Reacted To Bryson DeChambeau’s US Open Win
Bryson DeChambeau sealed his maiden Major title in stunning fashion at the US Open, winning by six as the only man under par at Winged Foot.
Here’s how social media reacted to the Golfing Scientist’s Major triumph:
I tip my hat to you @b_dechambeau
You have changed the game and this week you’ve been head and shoulders above the rest.
Excellent performance@usopengolf

Only player under par today, playing in the final group! Remember what the goal is everyone – golf is a game with a score and the lowest score wins – it’s not subjective – get the ball in the hole in less strokes than your competitors. Congrats @b_dechambeau

Say what you want about @b_dechambeau he might not be everyone’s cup of tea. His isn’t my cup of tea but what he is is a Major champion and I have huge respect for winning the @usopengolf. Changed his swing and body to try and over power golf courses. Done it his way.

Just hats off from me and my dogs to Bryson on what he’s done today, this week, and in general recently with his game. Truly phenomenal.

Somehow DeChambeau “found” 20 yards, elevated his total game and he’s having success because of it, and yet that means we make fun of him and the game needs massive changes. Wolff is a phenom with a swing that looks like Zoro and a sword, and yet the focus is on the venue.

It’s fun to give Bryson shit at times but you have to give him so much credit for sticking to his guns despite all the hate and now he gets to call himself a US Open Champion. Well deserved win.

.@b_dechambeau Congratulations
Amazing to watch!! #USOpen #majorchamp #LoveYou

Why I find Bryson genuinely endearing:
Bryson wants to get better at golf.
Realizes to get better, he should hit the ball longer.
Gaining 40lbs would probably help him do that.
*Gains 40 lbs*
Bryson genuinely has no idea why anybody would find that strange.
*Wins U.S. Open*

Bryson just undressed the USGA at one of their toughest venues.
Next up, Augusta!

Bryson has said it from Day 1 & continuously proves it: doing things differently is not a bad thing. People who judge you for doing it differently- and they will judge you LOUDLY-are saying more about themselves and nothing about you. Congrats @b_dechambeau, you’re a Major Champ!

Two years and 40 pounds lighter, when @b_dechambeau won the @MemorialGolf, I recalled a conversation I had with him at @TheMasters, when I suggested he was destined for great things. A great thing happened to Bryson today with a @usopengolf title & his first major!

Rory on Bryson: "I think it's brilliant, but I think he's taken advantage of where the game is at the minute. … With the way he approaches it, arm-lock putting, everything. I'm not saying that's right or wrong. He's just taking advantage of what we have right now."

What ever you think of Bryson this last round very impressive!!! Am not a fan to be honest, His caddy Tim great guy an top caddy. But talk about hard work, last night floodlights on range sorting it out after his round! pic.twitter.com/zSzLPCSgMb

Bryson Dechambeau has found the Fosbury Flop of golf. He can drive it more than 350 yards, but there is much, much more to admire. His swing is a technical masterpiece. His work ethic & powers of concentration are unmatched. Strategically smart. Great touch. A GAME CHANGER!

For all the talk about protein shakes and length off the tee… Dechambeau’s putting has been so impressive #PuttForDough #USOpen

Congrats to @b_dechambeau for winning the #USopen and his first major championship! Bryson has played a nearly flawless final round on a brutal Winged Foot. A deserving champion. Hopefully the first of many. All my best. pic.twitter.com/seGZhwmKVS

Major congratulations to @b_dechambeau on winning our National Open, your first of many majors, at Winged Foot, arguably the toughest course there is. Your play was remarkable! Enjoy a well deserved celebration. #USOpen @usopengolf

I first thought Bryson’s approach to a US Open was off the mark, but I was completely wrong. His strategy against the modern day US Open test at Winged Foot went against the grain, but made more and more sense as the week wore on. An emphatic victory and thoroughly deserved
