The Ping Heppler Tomcat 14 putter is one of the products featured in our Editor's Choice 2020 product list.

Ping’s latest putter range not only does a great job of catching the eye, but it also provides performance and options to cater for many different player types.
One of the many talking points is the flat face. There are no True Roll grooves to be found here. Instead, a completely flat face contributes to a louder sound and firmer feel, creating a point of difference with the super-soft feeling Sigma 2 range. Softer is often the key selling point of a new putter range, but we actually quite liked the firmer sensation off the face and how it gets the ball rolling quickly.

The copper finish is also unique to the market and we think it adds premium appeal to what is a comprehensive range. There are nine shapes in all with the range slightly favouring mallets over blades, such is the trend among golfers currently. The Tomcat 14 is arguably the signature model, featuring high levels of stability to improve consistency while the converging rows of dots help alignment and create a sense of motion at address.
Further adding to the appeal is the clever shaft length adjustability system. Golfers are able to use a wrench to adjust the length from 32 to 36 inches with a few simple turns. The length of a putter is so important because it sets the posture and eye position, which in turn affects the ball position and stroke. Get it right, and putts should drop with regularity, but get it wrong and the results could be catastrophic.
A fitting is the best way to ensure you get the correct length and Ping’s iPing 2.0 putting app is a great tool to use because in just three putts it can guide you into the correct model for your stroke. It also has some additional features to help you dive deeper into the set up that will work best for you.
The Heppler putters are more than worthy of a place in Editor’s Choice for their signature feel, unique looks and comprehensive range of shapes that can all be adjusted by the golfer.
