Rory McIlroy Pulls Out of Turkish Airlines Open

Defending Race to Dubai champion Rory McIlroy has pulled out of this week’s European Tour Final Series opener in Antalya after a recent rocket attack in the region.

The world number two told AFP, “It was weighing on my mind and I slept a lot better knowing that I’d made a decision. The fact that I have won the FedEx Cup this year and that I have won the Race to Dubai before made the decision a little bit easier.”

European Tour’s Southgate Wins European Father & Son Golf Champs

European Tour professional Matthew Southgate and his dad, Ian, clinched the 2016 European Father & Son Golf Championships in dramatic style in Spain after a three-way playoff was required to determine the winners in the Scratch category.

Matthew, currently lying 48th in the European Tour Race to Dubai rankings, and 5 handicapper Ian from England completed the 54 holes of competition in 13 under par after a storming 6 under par on the final day to catch the overnight leaders who they beat on the third playoff hole.
