Brooks Koepka is definitely the favourite to win with a two shot lead – but these leads are lost almost every week on the PGA Tour. So the player who are a few shots back do still have a chance.

Anyone who is 8 under or better still has a chance – with each way betting now only for top 3 it may mean going for the win.

Rickie Fowler 5 points to win at 8/1 with Sportnation.bet – Still searching for that elusive final Major, Fowler is just three shots back from Koepka, and this is as good a chance as any for him to win. He is relying on Koepka to not go away from the field, but some early Fowler birdies could put some pressure on.

Jason Day 3 points to win at 16/1 with Sportnation.bet – Two round of 67 and a 68 show that he is playing really decent, has a very low score in him, especially if his putter fires.

The end of round 2 may not have finished, but the picture is looking clearer, with some big names moving to the top of the leaderboard. From our picks, Kevin Kisner, who we got at 50/1 yesterday, had a fantastic round to only be one shot back from the leader Gary Woodland. Billy Horschel and Justin Rose are also well placed, while I expect an early morning Rory McIlroy charge to get into contention.

Francesco Molinari  2 points each way at 28/1 with Sportnation.bet – We got on the Italian at this point at the Open Championship, and this looks like a good time to get on him and this. Five shots back, but playing very solid.

Jason Kokrak 1 point each way at 125/1 with Sportnation.bet – Not the most fashionable of players to back, you will notice he is also five shots back, but his price is much longer. A very big hitter, he has the potential to rip this course up, and look best value at this stage of the tournament.

USPGA Championship Golf Betting Tips Advised Bets – After Round 1

The field is pretty tightly bunched after the first round with 33 players within five shots of the lead. Of my pre tournament picks Justin Rose had the best round and is well placed at three under par. His odds are now down to 16/1. For the other four picks Luke List and Alex Noren are in a position to go and shoot a low score in the morning, while Hossler and Hoffman have a bit more work to do, but aren’t out of it yet.

Having looked at the odds I like the look of the following:

Rory McIlroy 4 points each way at 25/1 with Sportnation.bet – I think will have been disappointed with his level par round yesterday, but hopefully that will be his worst round of the week. A great price for someone who can shoot low on this type of course.

Kevin Kisner 2 points each way at 50/1 with Sportnation.bet – The American had a great chance to win the USPGA last season before a poor final round. Has been having a great season, including leading the Open for three rounds, just three shots back these odds look a little long

Xander Schuaffelle 1 point each way at 100/1 with Sportnation.bet – The American who came so close to Open victory a couple of weeks back is in the same position as McIlroy after a level par first round. Is very much still in the hunt and capable of putting three under par rounds from this position.

Billy Horschel 1 point each way at 125/1 with Sportnation.bet – Shot two under par in the first round, is only four shots off the lead, but is huge odds. The best looking value bet I could find for someone who has PGA Tour winning experience.

Seems to be a really good price that shouldn’t be missed. He did withdraw from the WGC Bridgestone the week before with a back spasm, but should be in good shape for the USPGA Championship.

Alex Noren 2 points each way at 40/1 with Sportnation.bet – The Swede is the World Number 13 for a reason, incredibly effective on the kind of course that Bellerive looks to be. Won a tournament a month ago, and is in the form of his life.

Charley Hoffman 2 points each way at 66/1 with Sportnation.bet – The American always seems to make the cut in Majors, and is having a solid season, this course should suit his solid tee to green game and then all he needs is a hot putter to be right up there.

Luke List 1 point each way at 100/1 with Sportnation.bet – Five top 10s this season means he has risen from 138th in the world to 45th. Is one of those players who will come into the tournament completly under the radar, but has a great each way chance.

Beau Hossler 1 point each way at 150/1 with Sportnation.bet – I have been picking him all season and at these odds I am not going to stop. He has three top 10s including two runner up finishes. He is the perfect pick at these odds.
