14-YEAR-OLD FRENCH AMATEUR WINS PRO TOUR EVENT

Fourteen-year-old French amateur Louise Uma Landgraf held her nerve to triumph in a three-way playoff and win the 2023 Terre Blanche Ladies Open.

The teen closed with a two-over-par 74 at Golf de Terre Blanche to finish on -1 after an opening 69 in the 36-hole event.

Despite a shaky start with a double-bogey on her first hole, Landgraf fired five birdies in the final round to secure a place in the playoff, and then clinched her first professional victory when birdieing the first extra hole against her fellow French player Charlotte Liautier and Pasqualle Coffa of the Netherlands

“It feels amazing to win,” said the teenager, who had her father on caddie duties. “Especially, to win on a professional tour is something I’ve wanted to accomplish for a really long time, and to do so in my home country is really nice. It was my first time playing this course, I think I did a good job.”
