American Golf tees up winter training programme

American Golf has launched an online and in-person winter training programme aimed at encouraging golfers to keep playing during the colder months and preparing them to be ready to play their best golf at the beginning of the season next year.

The Train Your Game programme involves free weekly online training plans and group social training sessions at American Golf ranges and utilises Toptracer range technology in 135 bays across six sites nationally.
Designed by a series of top PGA professionals, sports psychologists and fitness experts, the weekly programme, delivered via email, focuses on a different training topic each week, supported by free-to-access skills and drills videos on YouTube, the first of which can be seen here.

Sessions include fitness tips to improve your driving, along with training guides and tips with professionals like Dan Whittaker, Jae Bowers, Lee Crombleholme and Justin Rose’s Academy team.

Gary Favell, CEO for American Golf Leisure, said: “Chatting to our customers, we recognised a need to keep golfers engaged, practicing and connected with each other over the long winter months. There’s lots in the news about loneliness, especially in men, so we thought this would be a great way to keep people connected, help make new friends, and to support golfers to start the new season with an improved score and lower handicap.”

The in-person sessions will take place across American Golf’s six sites – Golf Kingdom Rossendale & Chadwell Heath, High Legh Golf Club, Wythall Golf Complex, Hemingford Abbots Golf Complex in Cambridgeshire and Barnehurst Golf Club in Kent.

Golfers can sign up via trainyourgame or visit one of the 60 group training sessions taking place at American Golf’s facilities over the next ten weeks.
