Celine Boutier won her second successive Ladies European Tour event after adding the Women’s Scottish Open title to the Evian Championship she won in France last week.
The Frenchwoman began the final day with a three-shot lead, but ended up with a two-shot margin of victory after a two-under par 70 at Dundonald Links in Ayshire
With birdies on holes six, nine and 13, Boutier was in the driving seat before she dropped shots at 14 and 16, but the world no.4 bounced back with a birdie on 17 which proved to be enough to seal a two-stroke victory over Korea’s Hyo-Joo Kim, with China’s Ruoning Yin a further shot back in third after a closing 66.
It was a disappointing week for the home nations, with England’s Eleanor Givens being the highest placed finisher in tied 28th, while Charley Hull could only manage tied 35th in her last event before next week’s Women’s Open at Walton Heath. Scotland’s Gemma Drybrough finished 44th after closing with a 74.
