Callaway launches XR16 and XR16 Pro Fairway Woods

Callaway has unveiled a new family of fairway woods – the XR16 and XR16 Pro.

The standard XR16 model, which will suit mid to higher handicappers, is available in seven different lofts (3+, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11) and features a bigger head design, a hotter face, and more forgiveness, when compared to the original XR fairway woods launched two years ago.

Its larger overall footprint and improved aerodynamic head shape is designed to inspire confidence at address, while its Forged Hyper Speed Face Cup design is thinner and hotter to offer higher ball speeds off a wide section of the face.

The larger head shape and lighter crown has allowed engineers to move weight inside the head to create an even lower, deeper centre of gravity, which increases MOI (resistance to twisting), creating more stable and forgiving performance.

The XR16 Pro is available in three loft options (14, 16 and 18 degrees) and features all of the benefits found in the standard model, only in a more compact head shape that provides the added workability and low-spinning trajectory that better players prefer.
