Get Golfing adds 11th club to growing portfolio

UK-based charity Get Golfing has added an 11th golf club to its growing portfolio following the acquisition of Tadcaster Golf Club in North Yorkshire.
Formerly known as Scarthingwell Golf Course, having first opened in 1990, Tadcaster is the first club based in the north of England to have been bought by Get Golfing.
Daniel Lucking, Group Sales Director at Get Golfing said the charity took over the venue a few weeks ago and ‘has already made a noticeable impact on the energy and atmosphere of the club’, while the company has already begun the process of hiring new greenkeepers and taking on the service of external agronomists to advice on making improvements to the 18-hole course.

“Immediate actions are being taken to enhance the playing surfaces of the greens, as well as implement visually appealing cutting patterns and shaping techniques,” said Lucking. “Tadcaster now offers a flexible membership programme where players can utilise points to pay for their rounds of golf. These points are redeemable at all Get Golfing sites, including those for guests.”

Last year Get Golfing bought North Downs Golf Club in Surrey and this spring it began operating Winter Hill Golf Club in Berkshire after it was sold by the John Lewis Partnership to Safegolf. Other clubs in its portfolio include Hampton Court Palace, Pyrford, Redlibbets, Sherfield Oaks, Arkley, Ansty and Warley Park.
