Prospective professional golfers and those seeking a career in the golf industry are being invited to apply to The Golf College in West Sussex, which has a limited number of places available for this September’s intake.
The college, which is based at Lindfield Golf Club, offers students aged between 16 and 19 the opportunity to study for a two-year BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport and Exercise Sciences, as well as receive expert tuition from some of the game’s foremost coaches.
The course also offers students a full term at its winter training base at Castro Marim Golfe and Country Club in Portugal as part of the programme, which has proved hugely popular with previous graduates.
The college give students a chance to develop their golf with coaching from the college’s dedicated team of coaches, including Denis Pugh, Tim Spence, Jack Bado and the college’s managing director, and former European Tour player, Paul Lyons.
The college is hosting Open Days for prospective students on July 18, August 8 and August 22, where students can come and talk to college tutors and check out the golfing and educational facilities, including the hi-tech classrooms, sports gym and beautiful golf course grounds.
The Golf College will be opening as scheduled for the new academic year in September under Covid-19 compliant restrictions. With much of the course taking place outdoors and classroom sizes limited to under 15 students, the college is confident that it will be able to deliver the full range of lessons and facilities without compromising the learning experience.
College Director Paul Lyons said: “We are confident that the college offers a high-quality opportunity to young golfers who want to advance their golf, while progressing their academic careers at the same time through our two-year BTEC Diploma. We currently have a limited number of places available for intake in September and any students looking at their options for college this year should to get in touch as soon as possible.
“Unlike a lot of further education colleges, we are confident that we will be able to deliver the full teaching programme to our students through our non exam-based education next term and we can assure students that their safety will be paramount at every stage of the way during these difficult times.”
