Greycoat, a full-service independent property partner, is seeking investment and development opportunities in the UK golf club market.
The leading property company has joined forces with Eddie Bullock Golf Consultancy to examine opportunities within the sector and work with golf clubs to explore the potential restructuring of land and property assets.
Covid-19 has seen many businesses review their current operating models and the future marketplace and the golf industry is no different. Greycoat and EB Consultancy believe many clubs could be in a prime position to explore better use of their assets, with a view to reinvesting back into their core golf club business to create an improved experience for members now and for future generations.
Eddie Bullock is a long-established consultant in the industry, working with dozens of golf clubs to rebuild their business and operating models to prosper in challenging market conditions. He said: “Many clubs will already have been experiencing uncertainty, but there will now also be opportunities for golf clubs to reset their operating model for better long-term financial stability.”
Greycoat has taken the decision to diversify some of its activities into regions of the UK, searching for the right type of opportunities alongside EB Consultancy. They have significant experience in investment, development and assets management, mainly across the London commercial property market, with more than £650 million invested in the last three years.
They have identified that the golf sector is prime to take advantage of development opportunities, including the opportunity to invest in new communities around a revitalised and modern golf club culture, which in turn will allow golf clubs to thrive.
Jon Kenny, Greycoat’s Land and Strategic Development advisor, said: “The oversupply of golf courses across the UK, coupled with rapidly changing consumer demands, was already putting undue pressure on many courses to find a successful operating model. Current economic circumstances are hardly going to make life easier. The Greycoat team are well placed to help clubs identify alternative, real estate based, strategies which could reposition them successfully for many years to come.”
Golf clubs seeking a review of their assets are invited to contact Greycoat or Eddie Bullock Consultancy in the strictest confidence. Eddie Bullock can be reached by phone on 07802 626866 and Jon Kenny on 07947 212123.
