Stadium Golf Tour, a ground-breaking initiative that sees iconic sports stadiums transformed into unique golfing experiences teed off its first event in the UK yesterday, with golfers getting the chance to step onto the hallowed grounds of England Rugby’s headquarters at Twickenham and play nine holes of golf like never before. For the first time in England, beloved stadiums bid farewell to their traditional sports and welcome the game of golf. The famous pitches will be converted into 9-hole golf courses, challenging participants to showcase their skills from nine tee boxes positioned strategically around the stadium. In addition to the 9-hole golf course, Stadium Golf Tour offers attendees access to The Clubhouse, a hub where participants can immerse themselves in the world of golf. The Clubhouse boasts an array of activities, including golf simulators, a putting and chipping challenge, a hitting platform, plus exclusive behind the scenes stadium tours.Participants will have the chance to explore notable areas of these sporting arenas, such as the legendary Twickenham England Changing Rooms, creating memories that will last a lifetime.Speaking about Stadium Golf Tour Nils Braude, Managing Director, Twickenham Experience Limited, said: “It has been great to see the stadium transform into a nine-hole golf course. Adding a golf tournament to the long list of events that have been previously held at the stadium, further shows how versatile a venue such as Twickenham can be. Stadium Golf Tour is a great addition to our annual sporting calendar.“
Tickets for Twickenham Stadium for play over the next three days (June 9-11) are available online at twickenhamstadium.com/golf, with further events due to take place at Milton Keynes’ Stadium Mk from July 6-9, and West Ham’s London Stadium from October 12-15.
