Weald of Kent Golf Club in Kent is to launch a fund-raising campaign to help raise funds for victims of last week’s earthquake in Nepal.
The Headcorn-based club has around 40 members who are Ghurkas with the Queen’s Ghurka Regiment in Maidstone, and it plans to donate a £1 for every green fee played between May 4 and May 8 to towards the earthquake disaster fund.
Many Ghurkas from the club have been personally affected by the earthquake and have returned home to their families and to help with the clear up.
