On 12. 11 Jan Lostowski died at age 58. He started lifting with Slask Wrowlaw. His greatest result was a silver medal in 1976 Berlin European Championships. He was a world record holder in snatch – 139 kg, in 1976 (67.5 kg). Lostowski participated in Montreal Olympics 1976. He was the trainer of Marek Golab.
