Amazing pictures show race driver’s miracle escape after car violently flips with his HEAD hanging out the window
AMAZING pictures show the moment a lucky British racing car driver had a miraculous escape after barrel-rolling with is head out of the window.
Andrew Bourke’s Alfa Romeo GTV clipped another car at Brands Hatch at an estimated 130mph after suffering a break fault at the end of a straight.
The driver’s helmet can be seen dangling out of the window as the motor was sent into a violent spin – rolling over several times before slamming into the safety netting.
Astonishingly, Mr Bourke, of Corby, Northants, managed to climb out of the wreckage and walk away unhurt.
He was later checked over by paramedics and given the all-clear.
Photographer Pat Cranham said: “It was the fastest part of the circuit and he had already flipped into the air and was rolling when he came into my view.
“The fact that his head was out of the window makes it all the more scary.
