AMIR KHAN’S father Shah has said fans finally saw his “true colours” in I’m a Celebrity.
The former light-welterweight champion will return to boxing after a two-year hiatus, after proving he is not as arrogant as previously perceived.
The Bolton-born boxer formally announced his return in his press conference at The Dorchester Hotel on Wednesday, after securing a three-fight deal with Matchroom and long-standing rival Eddie Hearn.
Khan’s father Shah is relieved that his son is finally back in the game after his long lay off, but is also happy that the public got to see his son’s true side in his stint down under.
He told SunSport: “He was fun. It was good that people got to see the other side of him.
“This is his true colours and the way he is.
“He’s a human being at the end of the day, no different to anyone else.
“A lot of people thought he was an arrogant person or this that and the other, but he’s a genuinely nice youngster.”
