AMIR KHAN says he will be back in the boxing ring in March and says being in the jungle helped him keep “in shape”.
The Bolton fighter featured in this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! series and he was often seen working out and shadow boxing in the Australian jungle.
And despite many doubting he will ever return to the squared circle, Khan is already planning his return.
He said: “I am going to fight in March. I was training in the jungle everyday, I’m glad I went, it was a detox, I came back and I was in shape.
“I want to fight in the UK, I think it is time.”
The 31-year-old has not fought since he suffered a brutal sixth-round KO loss at the hands of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in May last year.
Interestingly, he has not fought in the UK since he won a unanimous points decision against Julio Diaz back in April 2013 in Sheffield.
After his stint in the jungle, the welterweight boxer was welcomed home with a special-themed party.

He added: “I just thought it was my close family and a small meal.
“I didn’t expect the whole jungle theme and so many people.

“The whole place looks like the jungle, with the critters and snakes. The only thing I was scared of was snakes and spiders.
“I got used to the spiders because I have seen a lot of them and while I was in the jungle I saw so many snakes go past me. Some of the trials had snakes involved.
And sepaking about how tough it was appearing in the hit ITV show he added: “I missed home cooking, the little treats like opening the fridge and picking what you want.
“I appreciate the littlest things. You miss the littlest things in life.
“You’re away from your family, your friends, your kids and wife and everyone, it’s not easy, it’s very very hard.”
