Andrea Belotti lined up by Arsenal and Liverpool for transfer as Premier League clubs chase £12.5m forward

ARSENAL and Liverpool are ready to enter a tug-of-war for Torino hitman Andrea Belotti.

The Gunners see the Italian the striker as a great alternative to Olivier Giroud, with manager Arsene Wenger  having already shown interest in the player this summer.

Wenger eventually bought Lucas Perez for £17million but, with worries still surrounding the fitness and future of Danny Welbeck, the Londoners are keen to have an alternative up their sleeve.

Belotti could be bought for around £12.5m.

Liverpool are also keen as the 22-year-old has the pace and mobility that boss Jurgen Klopp craves in the final third of the field.

A hat-trick against Empoli at the end of August heightened the English club’s interest in the Torino man who was subsequently called up by Italy for the first time.

However, Belotti was ruled out of Italy’s opening World Cup qualifier in Israel on Monday due to injury.

The striker looks certain, though, to better last season’s tally of 12 league goals.
