ANDY MURRAY has revealed his delight after announcing that he is expecting to be a father for the second time.
The world No1 confirmed the news on the eve of his Wimbledon title defence where he takes of Alexander Bublik on Monday afternoon.
Murray and wife Kim are already parents to their daughter Sophia, who is 17 months old.
And speaking of the exciting arrival, Murray said he was “very happy” and admits that he had known the news for some time.
He said: “We’re both obviously very happy and looking forward to it.”
When asked whether it would affect his performances at Wimbledon, Murray responded: “No. I wouldn’t have thought so.”
Following the birth of Sophia, the Scot stressed that his family will always come first.
He said: “My child is more important to me and my wife is more important to me than a tennis match.

“It’s a big change for me and my wife, but that’s the current priority.”
Murray’s preparations leading into the tournament have been seriously hampered with a hip injury.
The Brit looked in obvious discomfort when he hobbled out of a practice session with Belgium’s Steve Darcis on Friday.
And despite slipping and clutching his knee on Sunday, Murray has revealed he will be fit to play all seven matches if he can book his place in the final.
He said: “I’ll be fine to play the event and play seven matches.
“If I feel like I am today, I’d be delighted and have no issues getting through.
“It has been slightly stop-start preparation but each day it has got better.
“If necessary, I can take some anti-inflammatories if my hip flares up. Hopefully that’s not the case.
“Obviously this is an extremely important tournament, so you worry a little bit. It is a little bit stressful if you can’t practice for a few days.
“You really want to be preparing, training as much as you can to get ready and make you feel better, especially when you have not had any matches.
“But I tried to think positively. I tried to make the best decisions along with my team to give myself the best chance to feel good on Monday. I feel like I have done that.”
