Watching on in the 78,000-strong Principality Stadium crowd was England hero Gazza.

The football great – who enjoyed spells at Newcastle, Spurs, Lazio and Rangers – embraced AJ after the bout.

Gazza, 50, looked dapper in a grey suit as Joshua, 28, made his way towards him in the crowd.

Former five-weight world champion Sugar Ray Leonard, 61, also looked on from the Cardiff stadium as Joshua moved one step closer to becoming the undisputed heavyweight king of the world.

Kiwi Parker, 26, made him work for his belt by taking him the full 12 rounds for the first time in his career.

Joshua immediately called out WBC champ Deontay Wilder after sealing the victory.

‘LOAD OF S**T’ Tyson Fury calls Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker a ‘pair of bums’ and says even Deontay Wilder would knock AJ out

He shouted: “Wilder, let’s go baby! Let’s go!

“To beat him? Get him in the ring and knock him spark out.”

But AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn claimed American Wilder, 32, has been ducking a superfight with the undefeated Brit.

He said: “Last fight Wilder fought in front of about six or seven thousand. Show Deontay Wilder what 80,000 sounds like!

“They don’t want it, they want it. They’ve never approached us.

“AJ’s fought all the champions and won all the belts at 22 fights he has the chance to be undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

Deontay Wilder’s people don’t contact us and they don’t want to know.

“If they don’t walk the walk they can’t talk the talk.

“If they come here he’ll get knocked spark out.

“We’ll do it anywhere. He boxes in some great venues with nobody there.

“Look at what Anthony Joshua is doing. Wilder will be watching right now and he will now beat AJ and these people.”
