ANTONIO CONTE is a dead man walking at Chelsea, according to Joey Barton.
Reports of unrest between the Italian and the Stamford Bridge top brass have not gone away all season with Conte calling for a public vote of confidence from the club.
Conte declared: “”I’d like to have a statement to support against this speculation.
“Maybe I’d like that the club prepare a statement to tell the media, ‘I trust in his job, I trust in his work’.”
The Champions are 19 points behind Manchester City and were humbled 3-0 at home to Bournemouth last week.
And with just one league win in 2018 they face Watford this evening with qualification for next season’s Champions Legaue under serious threat.

There have even been reports Conte will be shown the door if Chelsea lose at Vicarage Road tonight.
And Barton is adamant Conte, who has moaned all season about his squad’s lack of depth, will be sacked.

He said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “He’s been a dead man walking for a while.
“I don’t know what has gone on in the off-season there, but they never had a good summer.
“He has been yelping since August that he hasn’t had the right bodies in.
“At Chelsea, they don’t have dynastic managers. They don’t last ten, 15 years. Roman replaces them pretty quickly.”
Since Abramovich took over in 2003,the Russian billionaire has dismissed eight managers including sacking Jose Mourinho twice.
The current Manchester United chief has been Abramovich’s longest serving boss, he lasted three years and three months in his first spell in West London bewteen 2004 and 2007.
