Arjen Robben imitates Johan Cruyff statue as Bayern Munich star pays homage to Dutch maestro in charity event
THIS is the brilliant moment Arjen Robben pretended to be a statue of Johan Cruyff.
The Bayern Munich star looked unrecognisable as he donned a wig before slathering himself in silver paint.
Robben then stood still – just like a statue – as people brilliantly mistook him for Dutch idol Cruyff.
The former Chelsea man appeared to be highly amused by his ability to transform into the legendary footballer.
But it was all for a good cause, with the stunt performed as a charity event for ‘Netherlands stands up against cancer’.
Robben posed alongside real statues at the show in Alkmaar, but his mind may also have been on his country’s failure to qualify for the World Cup this summer.
Robben retired from international duty after the Dutch failed to make the cut for the tournament in Russia.
But the tribute to Cruyff is sure to go down well with the public, as he is easily regarded as the greatest Dutch player of all time.
