LEON GORETZKA is close to signing for Bayern Munich from Schalke, according to reports.
Bundesliga expert Raphael Honigstein confirmed on Twitter that “he’s [Goretzka] agreed terms with them” and “will arrive [in] 2018”. Signifying that the youngster will join the Bundesliga champions and immediately be sent out on loan.

The 22-year-old is highly lauded in Germany, which explains why Bayern are so intent on snapping him up.
There are distinct similarities to the Renato Sanches situation last year, where Manchester United were interested in the Portuguese star, but Bayern took him off United’s hands before they could blink.
Goretzka lit up the Confederations Cup this summer, finishing as joint top scorer with three goals, including the opener in their 2-0 win against Mexico in the semi-final.
The German joins a long list of young players signed by the Bundesliga winners this transfer window, including Serge Gnabry from Arsenal, Lyon’s Corentin Tolisso and Kingsley Coman, whose loan from Juventus was made permanent.
Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp will have to look elsewhere for their midfield engine, with the Gunners reportedly interested in Nice’s Jean-Michael Seri.
