Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirms he will only be making TWO additional signings in upcoming summer transfer window
ARSENE WENGER has announced the only two more players will be joining Arsenal this summer.
The French boss, 66, has already landed former Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka in this window.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will only be making three signings this summer, including Granit Xhaka who agreed to join the club this month
And despite once again falling short of their first Premier League title since the 2003-04 season, Wenger has insisted too many signings would disrupt his squad.
He said: “We’ve already bought one player – Granit Xhaka – from Monchengladbach, because we’ve lost three players.
“We’ve lost [Mikel] Arteta, we’ve lost [Tomas] Rosicky and [Mathieu] Flamini.
Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka will join up with Arsenal following this summer’s European Championships, with Arsene Wenger only signing two more players
“So we’ve bought one midfielder and we’re still in the market to buy one or two more players.
“But it is not easy. It is not just buying. We also have to keep a good balance.
"If you buy too many players you destabilise your team. So three is the maximum.”

Wenger has long been renowned for his frugal nature in the transfer market.
Last summer, the Frenchman only brought ONE new face to the club - goalkeeper Petr Cech.
His habit for failing to bolster his squad with any great purpose has been a great source of frustration for the Emirates faithful over the years.
A portion of Arsenal supporters have long made their feelings regarding Arsene Wenger and his transfer policy known, even launching a 'Wenger Out' campaign
So it was with great excitement that Arsenal fans learnt of the early signing of Xhaka, with a bold move for Jamie Vardy soon after.
However, the Leicester and England man, 29, is now expected to remain at the King Power Stadium, with Wenger refusing to tempt the striker away with a bigger pay-packet.
And now Wenger's revelation he will not be delving deep into his pockets this summer is bound to upset a contingent of the Gunners faithful.
