SHKODRAN MUSTAFI revealed that international compatriot Mesut Ozil talked him into joining Arsenal.
The Gunners will finally announce the signing of the central defender on Tuesday after the player confirmed that he will sign for the club.
Speaking to Sky Germany, the 24-year-old announced his own transfer move by declaring that he had signed a five-year deal in a transfer thought to be around £35million.
Mustafi also revealed to journalist Marc Behrenbeck that Arsene Wenger and fellow German Ozil were the reasons why he joined the club.
He said: "I spoke to Mesut and he told me everything about the club. It was all very positive.

"I was quickly convinced because I think this is a cool club. I only wanted to play here."
He will join another new signing in highly-rated Deportivo striker Lucas Perez as boss Wenger aims to bolster his squad before the end of the transfer window.
Mustafi returns to England five years after leaving Everton where he made just one appearance in a Europa League defeat to BATE Borisov.
He reached 50 appearances for Italian side Sampdoria before Valencia snapped him up for a fee believed to be around £6m.
Wenger has been desperate to sign a new defender following injuries to both Per Mertesacker and Gabriel.
Their impressive 3-1 victory over Watford on Saturday relieves pressure on Wenger after supporters directed chants calling for him to get sacked after a defeat and draw in their opening two matches.
Mustafi will join up with his new teammates after the international break and is expected to slot straight into the side for the next league clash against Southampton.
