Sky Sports News in Germany are reporting that the 50-year-old Austrian has failed to negotiate a new contract at the Bundesliga high-fliers.

And despite having one-year still to run, Hasenhuttl has resigned from the position.

He was believed to be on the shortlist to replace Jupp Heynckes as Bayern Munich manager, before the German champs opted for Niko Kovac instead.

That could mean Arsenal move into prime position to bag the well-respected coach.

Mikel Arteta is still the bookies favourite to bag the Emirates job, but his odds have drifted slightly in the last 24 hours.

And should details emerge that Hasenhuttl resigned from his job at RB Leipzig, he would become a much more attractive option for the Gunners as they wouldn’t have to pay out compensation.

Following Wenger’s departure, Arsenal are preparing to breathe new life throughout the whole non-playing department.

SunSport reported how physio Colin Lewin leading an exodus of SIX of the former manager’s backroom staff.

Joining Lewin on the way out are first team coach Neil Banfield, goalkeeping expert Gerry Peyton, fitness coach Tony Colbert and kit man Paul Johnson.

Boro Primorac, Wenger’s close ally throughout his management career, is also on the way out as the new era at the North London club continues at a pace.
