Arsene Wenger rotated his squad for the Paris Saint-Germain Champions League game, so Petr Cech, and either Granit Xhaka or Mohamed Elneny should return to the starting XI.

Francois Coquelin and Alex Oxlade Champberlain will be sweating on their places after struggling over in Paris.

While Mike Phelan is starting out on his managerial journey, Wenger is in his 20th year at the Gunners helm.

And Phelan is a huge fan of the Frenchman, who enjoyed a fierce touchline rivalry with Fergie over two decades.

Phelan said: "I have a great admiration for Arsene, who is a real football innovator.

"He brought a new philosophy to the Premier League when he came to Arsenal and treated English football to things we hadn't seen before.

"But not only did he introduce so many new methods, he also stayed true to his principles.

"He deserves great credit for doing that, and I don't see any reason why they can't win the title again this season."
