Arsene Wenger offered pie by pitch invader during Arsenal’s EFL Cup win over Nottingham Forest

A PITCH invader offered Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger a slice of PIE during the Gunners’ win over Nottingham Forest.

Just after Granit Xhaka had opened the scoring in a 4-0 win at the City Ground, a fan jumped the hoarding to offer the Frenchman the meal.

Arsenal cruised to victory against Philippe Montanier’s side, new boy Lucas Perez scoring his first two goals for the club.

Xhaka had opened the scoring with a stunning drive from 30 yards while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain drove in a late fourth goal.

Wenger praised Perez after he scored his first goals following his £17million move from Deportivo La Coruna.

Wenger said: "Of course, a striker is always growing when he scores goals and I felt that he has shown tonight.

"I liked his second goal because it was not only technique but it was determination, to fight for the ball and finish.

"I liked as well the part he played in the goal of Oxlade-Chamberlain because it shows that he can combine with other people and that he is an intelligent player."
