ROBIN VAN PERSIE – Manchester United

IN eight seasons Dutch ace RVP racked up 194 Premier League appearances for the Gunners, netting 96 times for the North London club – including 30 in his final season.

However, he broke the hearts of fans and Wenger by upping sticks and joining Manchester United.

Van Persie‘s aggressive celebration when netting against his former club only further rubbed salt into the wound.

KOLO TOURE – Manchester City

THE Ivorian spent seven seasons at Arsenal, winning the Premier League in the 2003-04 Invincibles season.

However, after his spell in London, he moved to Manchester to join City in 2009-10, where he spent four seasons.

On his day, Toure was one of the best centre-halves in the league, so his move away was a bitter blow.

SAMIR NASRI – Manchester City

ANOTHER star, another Man City poach, this time it was Samir Nasri.

The French midfielder spent over three years at the Gunners, only to be poached by City at his absolute prime.

After a few impressive seasons, Nasri fell out of favour at the Etihad and is now on loan at Sevilla.

ASHLEY COLE - Chelsea

ONE of the more famous heart-breaking moves as Arsenal are concerned... Having spent his whole career at Arsenal, Cole left in 2006 to join title rivals Chelsea.

After swapping north London for west London, Cole went on to have massive success at the Blues - much to Gunners fans' disappointment - winning the Premier League once and the FA Cup four times to go with a Champions League crown to boot.

Since leaving, Cole has also played for Roma and the LA Galaxy.

BACARY SAGNA - Manchester City

RIGHT-BACK Sagna was Wenger's long-term successor to 'Invincible' star Lauren.

The Frenchman spent seven seasons at Arsenal, before joining, you guessed it, Man City.

There, Sagna is into his third season, getting his hands on the League Cup last term.

GAEL CLICHY - Manchester City

CLICHY spent eight seasons in north London - including the 2003-04 league triumph - only to fall victim to the Man City curse.

The French full-back left the Emirates in 2011, helping City to two Premier League titles.

As well as his league triumphs, Clichy has won two League Cups at the Etihad club.

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR - Manchester City

OFTEN criticised, you can't deny that Adebayor was at his prime at Arsenal.

104 Premier League appearances and 46 goals across three-and-a-half seasons is a mightily impressive feat.

However, Adebayor was another to join the ever-growing list of Man City stars - leaving in 2009 - where he spent a controversy-laden two seasons before his move to Tottenham in 2011.
