Aston Villa line up £20m Championship record bid for Hull’s Abel Hernandez to save their season

ASTON VILLA are offering a huge Championship-record £20million for Hull striker Abel Hernandez.

Villa’s new Chinese rulers want the  Uruguayan hitman, 26, and tabled a massive package to tempt the Tigers.

The bid  is £14m up front with £3m  on Villa achievements  and £3m for goals and appearances.

More surprising is Hull have not snapped their hands off — though they are preparing to spend, which does point to a sale.

Hull aim to beat Burnley to Derby’s Jeff Hendrick in a shock £7m swoop.

Tigers made an inquiry for the Republic of Ireland midfielder, 24, after a move for Tottenham’s  Ryan Mason hit a snag.

Sean Dyche’s Clarets are still keen on Hendrick after weeks of chasing him and haggling over figures.

The Rams will sell at the right price and now seem sure to get it.

Burnley will go back for Brighton’s Dale Stephens if they miss out. The Seagulls have checked Gillingham’s Bradley Dack as his replacement but have  concerns over his fitness.

WEST HAM are ready to send young centre-half Reece Burke to Wigan on loan at the player’s request.

The Championship club have an ally in the chase for the 19-year-old as Burke is best pals with Kyle Knoyle.

His fellow Hammer  is already on loan at the DW Stadium. Blackburn and Barnsley also wanted Burke.

Another West Ham starlet, Ashley Fletcher, is wanted on loan by Leeds, who tried to sign him when he left Man Utd this summer.

BOURNEMOUTH boss Eddie Howe could make a surprise bid for Leeds’ Charlie Taylor.

The Cherries already have Charlie Daniels and recent signing from Liverpool Brad Smith as cover at left-back.

So a swoop for £8million-rated Taylor, 22 — who is also interesting West Brom — would raise eyebrows.

LIVERPOOL outcast Andre Wisdom wants Brendan Rodgers to give him  a career lifeline at Celtic.

The Reds defender, 23,  has been  loaned  to Derby, West Brom and Norwich.
