CRISTIANO RONALDO has won the Ballon D’Or for the fifth time to equal his great rival Lionel Messi’s haul.
The Real Madrid and Portugal superstar pipped the Argentine Barcelona legend to prize in Paris this evening.
Ronaldo, 32, was awarded the accolade at the top of the Eiffel Tower at the glitzy bash in the French capital.
PSG forward Neymar was also in the top three alongside Ronaldo and Messi.
He was voted as the winner of the award, which recognises Europe’s best player on behalf of France Football magazine, for the second year running by a group of 173 journalists from across the planet.
