And the fast-rising star has been boosted by a charity bet from bookmakers Paddy Power, who have offered a special bet on Pimblett one day facing, and beating, UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Paddy Power has offered Pimblett a £2,000 charity bet at odds of 5/1 that he’ll defeat Conor McGregor before 2020.

Should Pimblett be successful in that challenge, Paddy Power will pay his chosen charity, Fight For Autism, a huge £10,000.

Cage Warriors is renowned for producing future UFC stars, and 21-year-old Pimblett is looking to follow in the footsteps of former Cage Warriors stars including McGregor, Dan Hardy, Joe Duffy, Ross Pearson and Joanna Jedrzejczyk by earning a spot in the UFC.

And the popular Scouser is confident he’ll be able to cash in Paddy Power’s charity bet and become one of the UFC’s biggest stars in the process.

“I’m not afraid of anyone,” he said.

“I’ll take them on, anywhere, anytime – McGregor included!”

A spokesman from Paddy Power said: “Paddy’s not a lad who’s short on confidence and we were more than happy to give him a bet on himself when his management team reached out to us.

“Given his talent he’ll be circling the waters with the big fish in no time, and should he beat McGregor it’ll sting as much as his right hook but a great cause will benefit.”

Paddy Pimblett takes on Johnny Frachey for the vacant CWFC featherweight title at Cage Warriors 78 at the Echo Arena, Liverpool. Watch the action live on Saturday night from 9:15pm on BT Sport 2 and UFC Fight Pass.
