Brock Lesnar handed temporary anti-doping suspension following double drug test failure at UFC 200

DISGRACED WWE superstar and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has been handed a temporary drugs suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Lesnar failed TWO separate USADA drug tests, one pre-fight and one on the night of UFC 200, where he defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision in the night’s co-main event, earning $2.5million in the process.

Lesnar tested positive for oestrogen blocker clomiphene and a metabolite,  hydroxyclomiphene, substances that have previously been linked with steroid usage.

Following the NSAC’s recent meeting in Las Vegas, Lesnar was handed a temporary suspension pending a full hearing, which has still to be scheduled.

The wrestling superstar was given no sanctions from the WWE, with the promotion releasing a post-UFC 200 statement saying simply: “Brock Lesnar has not performed for WWE since WrestleMania and is not scheduled to return until Sunday, August 21.”

If further analysis of Lesnar’s samples confirms the original results, he looks set for a two-year ban from the UFC by USADA.

But the Nevada State Athletic Commission, as the sanctioning body for the state, has the option of imposing their own punishment – and could choose to hand down an even more hefty ban, should they see fit.
