Brock Lesnar vs Conor McGregor: UFC dream match proposed by WWE star in ‘winner-takes-all’ bout ahead of UFC 200

BROCK LESNAR has challenged Conor McGregor to a winner-takes-all UFC dream match after the popular Irishman claimed to be a bigger box office star, SunSport can exclusively reveal.

The 38-year-old Lesnar returns to the Octagon this weekend for the first time in five years to take on Mark Hunt at UFC 200.

Conor McGregor has claimed he is the biggest draw in the sport

Former Heavyweight Champion Lesnar’s star power was legendary during his previous stint with UFC, pulling in record box office numbers, with another bumper buy rate expected for Saturday’s pay-per-view event in Las Vegas.

McGregor, however, has recorded some of the biggest numbers in UFC history himself.

And he had no problem telling fans on Twitter recently how he has smashed the former champion’s previous records, laying claim to being the biggest attraction in the fight game.

Lesnar, who has been given the go-ahead from WWE to take time off for a ‘one-off opportunity’ before returning for next month’s Summerslam, brushed off McGregor’s comments and challenged him to settle the argument with their fists.

When quizzed about McGregor’s comments, Lesnar’s official advocate Paul Heyman said: “He’s an interesting fella Conor McGregor. It’s a shame he doesn’t have his facts straight.

“Do you have any idea what kind of dollar and premium money we can charge to see Brock Lesnar fight in Dubai, or a soccer stadium in South Africa?

“The entire world wants to see him.”

With Lesnar sat smiling alongside him, Heyman threw down the gauntlet to McGregor to meet his client inside the Octagon or even the wrestling ring, with the winner keeping all of the purse money.

He added: “Ask Barack Obama what happened when he went down to Cuba and he was talking about all the different business they can do together.

“I can guarantee to you in the top five was bring a Brock Lesnar fight to Havana.

“So if Conor McGregor would like to step into the ring or an octagon against Brock Lesnar to determine the biggest box office attraction, we can make that winner-takes-all and bragging rights.”

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman were speaking at the launch of the new video game WWE 2K17 ‘Welcome to Suplex City’.

WWE 2K17, which features Lesnar as its cover star, is currently scheduled for worldwide release in October 2016 for the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems, as well as Xbox One and Xbox 360.
