BURTON ALBION defender Ben Turner has received an FA misconduct charge after allegations of racial abuse – and now faces a five-game ban.
Turner, 29, is alleged to have used “abusive and/or insulting words towards an opponent” during the EFL Championship clash with Brentford on December 10, 2016.
An FA statement read: “This breach of Rule E3(1) is an ‘Aggravated Breach’ as defined in Rule E3(2), as it included reference to ethnic origin and/or race and/or nationality.”

However, Turner denies the charge with Burton releasing a statement saying they will contest the decision.
The Brewers statement wrote: “Ben Turner strongly denies the charge and will contest it.”
Brentford meanwhile have refused to comment on the latest revelation.
Turner was one of four players to be handed a yellow card for the 94th-minute incident at Griffin Park.
Burton's Jon McLaughlin and Brentford pair of Romaine Sawyers and Nico Yennaris also went into the book, but only Turner faces retrospective action.
In May 2013, the FA introduced new guidelines on the issues of race, sexuality, religion and disability.
The new rule states that any player found guilty will automatically be banned for at least five games.
Newcastle's former Swansea and Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey succumbed to the new guideline in December for using racially abusive language towards Wolves' Romain Saiss, and was fined £100,000.
Chelsea skipper John Terry was also banned and fined £220,000 for his incident with Anton Ferdinand, while Luis Suarez faced an eight-match suspension and a fine for his spat with Patrice Evra in 2011.
