CELTIC have slapped in a formal bid for Aston Villa winger Scott Sinclair.
Brendan Rodgers has made the 27-year-old his No1 summer target to bring to Scotland.
He worked with Sinclair at Swansea before moving to Liverpool and is desperate for a £2million move to be reunited with him.
Sinclair provided Rodgers with one of his finest moments in management when he scored a hat-trick at Wembley in the play-off final to earn a place in the Premier League.
Villa are weighing up the bid as they assess their options for next season.
