MENTION Championship Manager and football fans of a certain age will think of sleepless nights, bargain wonderkids and possibly broken relationships.
And now the long-running football manager series is back – and to celebrate the developers have run through 1000 play’s of the new season on mobile game Championship Manager 17.
Manchester United may have broken the world transfer record on Paul Pogba, but according to CM17 it’s their Manchester neighbours City who’ve nailed the summer business.
The game was run 1000 times and the results threw back a remarkable 463 titles for Pep Guardiola‘s side, as they went on to dominate the top flight.
United under Jose Mourinho could only limp in second, with 291 titles in the 1000 simulations.
Chelsea improved on last season’s debacle with 249 titles, with Antonio Conte‘s side inevitably beating Arsenal into third.
In fact, the Gunners lack of summer transfer activity - at least as yet - rendered them unable to challenge and they came out on top spot just 89 times.
And top scorer during all these season's? Harry Kane.
The Spurs forward topped the charts 36.6 percent of the time, with Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming in second and third.
Not content with just the Premier League, the stats men also ran the rule over the Championship - and it's good news for Newcastle fans.
The Toon romped away with the title a staggering 527 times, beating Aston Villa into second with 369.
And the top scorer is on fire - it's Will Grigg.
