Chapecoense are due to face Palmeiras on Saturday evening, but the clash could now be put back.

Amazingly, despite the tragic incident of the last year, the 2017 regional champions have been much travelled.

Jose Sand thought he’d given Lanus a point with ten minutes remaining only for Luiz Gustavo to head in a late winner.

Chapecoense now need to beat Ecuadorian side, Zulia, in the final group stage match to clinch qualification to the next round.
