Chapecoense’s amputee goalkeeper Jackson Follmann will be given a job by Brazilian club

CHAPECOENSE will hand a job to plane crash survivor Jackson Follmann who had part of his right leg removed in a life saving operation.

The plane crash nearly wiped out the Brazilian club’s entire playing staff along with a number of journalists whilst they were travelling to the fist leg of the Copa Sudamericana final.

As reported by FourFourTwo , the title was handed to the club by request of their opponents Atletico Nacional, and now Chapecoense will be able to take part in the South American equivalent of the Champions League, the Copa Libertadores.

The revenue generated from the matches will help rebuild the club which will have a role ready for Follmann when he has recovered.

The club’s executive director of football, Rui Costa has said that the club will do everything in its power to help Follmann to support him in his recovery.

He also went on to say: ''I say with great satisfaction that I am sure he will work with us.'

''I do not know when, under what circumstances, but as far as it depends on me and my colleagues, he will be with us somewhere.

''Not by some kind of concession, but by his intelligence. For what it represents to us. But the first question is that he recovers physically and emotionally.''

Costa added: ''I would be proud and honoured to work with him again. We really want to have these people close to us.

It is crucial that they return to the routine of the club. For all their physical and emotional presence we give.

''I am sure that President Plinio and Ivan Tozzo ( vice president), will be very eager to have him us. Something that is compatible and dignified.''

Chapecoense will return to playing on January 29 when they face Internacional de Lages in the Campeonato Catarinense which is four days after a friendly between Brazil and Colombia, which is in aid of raising money for the tragedy stricken club.

Barcelona will also play the Brazilians in next year's Joan Gamper Trophy as clubs and countries all over the world rally together to try and help rebuild Chapecoense.
