CHAPECOENSE won their first game since the Colombian air tragedy killed 19 players and their former coach in November.
The 2-1 victory over Inter de Lages was met with emotional scenes in the stands at the Arena Conda.
The Brazilian club has had to bring in an entirely new playing staff for the new season - but managed to win their first league game of the season.
Niltinho and Wellington Paulista scored to give Vagner Mancini's team a winning start to the new Catarinense season.
