Charlton dedicate MK Dons home game to murdered PC Keith Palmer – with 50 per cent of ticket sales going to his fund


CHARLTON have dedicated their home game against MK Dons next Tuesday in memory of fan PC Keith Palmer, who was killed in the terror incident in Westminster last week.

The club are also donating 50 per cent of all ticket sales to Palmer’s family, while Addicks players will also be donating the entirety of their match appearance fees.

A one-minute silence will be obdserved the game on April 4, while the Charlton star’s will wear black armbands.

A special shirt which will be emblazoned with hero Keith’s Police warrant number, “P204752”, in tribute.

Palmer, 48, died while trying to stopped armed terrorist Khalid Masood attempting to force his way into the Houses of Parliament last week.

In a touching gesture, the League One club draped a club scarf over the seat used for years by the tragic policeman.

But that red seat has been temporarily replaced by a white seat which will bear his warrant number and remain in place for the remainder of the season.

And they are currently putting together other ways they can commemorate the life of Palmer, who was married with a family.

He had been on the force for 15 years and is believed to have joined after leaving the army, having served as a member of the Royal Artillery before becoming a cop.

Work will then begin on placing a permanent memorial stone for Keith which will be placed alongside existing memorials at The Valley.

PC Palmer was one of three people killed when a lone attacker drove a car into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before trying to storm Parliament.

A fund set up in his memory by the Metropolitan Police Federation raised £700,000 before it was closed as people clamoured to pay their respects for his brave action in stopping the terrorist.

Thousands of police officers are due to join hands in a march across Westminster Bridge in tribute of slain cop PC Keith Palmer.
