A CHEERLADER inspired a dramatic comeback victory after being booted from a basketball game for heckiling over a megaphone.
Arizona were trailing at the home of their bitter rivals Arizona State by three points when the ref took exception to something on the side of the court.
And taking advantage of a break in play, the official sent one of the Wildcats cheerleaders packing to roars of support from the fans.
Sun Devils guard Remy Martin was about to take a free throw with the score at 50-47 when a male cheerleader yelled “Not today, Remy” through his megaphone.
He then missed his team’s stunning comeback in the Pac-12 derby as the Wildcats made the trip home with a 77-70 win.
A source told ESPN that ref RandyMcCall walked over to the scorer’s table and said: “This guy needs to get out of here.”
He later told the Arizona Republic: “He was yelling, using the [megaphone] to call out people by name, which is not acceptable.

“And he was asked to please stop, and he chose not to.”
According to Rule 10, Article 8 of the official referee handbook, cheerleaders “shall not commit an unsportsmanlike act” like “using musical instruments, amplified music or artificial noisemakers while the game is in progress, except timeouts and intermissions.”
Thje result sees the neighbours both take a 7-6 record, with Arizona State just on top after managing better results against their conference rivals.
