ANTONIO RUDIGER had an evening to forget after starring for Arsenal during their 2-1 win over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg at the Emirates.
The 24-year-old netted a bizarre own goal for the Gunners‘ equaliser, before unfortunately guiding an Alexandre Lacazette pass into the path of Granit Xhaka for the winner.
Antonio Conte’s men got off to the perfect start after Eden Hazard fired them ahead in the seventh minute, before Rudiger headed beyond Willy Caballero in the 12th minute.
Nacho Monreal wheeled away in delight as he attempted to claim Arsenal’s opening goal, though it was the German who steered the ball into the back of the net.
The Spanish left-back got on the end of a Xhaka corner, but his header took a deflection of Marcos Alonso, before cannoning in off Rudiger and beyond the helpless goalkeeper.
And things went from bad to worse for the former Roma star, as he had a huge hand in the decisive goal of the game.
Lacazette put in a low cross in the 60th minute, and Rudiger’s attempted clearance backfired in spectacular fashion.
The unfortunate culprit yet again, the ball ended up falling to the feet of the Swiss midfielder, who made no mistake as he fired past the ex-Manchester City goalkeeper.

Arsene Wenger’s side were dominant in the second period, and should have scored again through Alex Iwobi, but his effort was saved by the feet of the Argentinian.
Arsenal’s dream of a first League Cup triumph under the Frenchman edges closer, but they will have to beat Pep Guardiola’s fearsome Manchester City side in the summer.
