Arp, 17, is the talk of the town after netting 26 times in just 21 games for Hamburg’s kids this season.

And The Mirror claims Chelsea are preparing a bid to bring him to Stamford Bridge as they look to build a side for the future.

However, Borussia Dortmund are also interested and have a proven track record of promoting youth.

Arp has just a year remaining on his Hamburg contract and talks over a new deal are yet to commence.

But he is seen as a fundamental part of the club’s future, having been included in the senior squad’s winter training camp to Dubai.

And sporting director Jens Todt is keen for all parties to come to an agreement before either Chelsea or Dortmund attempt to make a move.

He said: “We want to extend with him, without if and but. We all know that he has what it takes to be a Bundesliga player – and not just since yesterday.”
