Chelsea ‘launch bid for Roma’s Liverpool and Real Madrid target Alisson to replace Thibaut Courtois’

CHELSEA are set to launch a bid for Liverpool and Real Madrid target Alisson to replace Thibaut Courtois this summer, according to reports.

The Blues appear resigned to finally losing the ex-Atletico Madrid stopper in the coming weeks and will now look to poach Brazil’s No1 from under the Reds’ nose.

Roma stopper Alisson has been on Jurgen Klopp’s radar for months now as he looks to finally replacing error-prone pair Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

However, the Serie A club are keen to hold out until after the World Cup before they listen to offers for the £79million-rated Brazilian.

Alisson’s contract in Rome runs until at least June 2021 – with reports in Italy claiming Chelsea have launched a cheeky £53m bid – £27m less than the Reds were quoted.

The man keeping Ederson out of the Brazil first XI currently earns just £25,000-a-week at Roma, but is to be offered an improved contract whether he stays or goes.

But with Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid all keen to bolster their goalkeeping ranks this summer, there could be something of a transfer merry-go-round this summer.

The Reds have now turned their attention to Atleti’s Jan Oblak in a sensational £79m deal.

With Los Blancos thought to be keen on Courtois, Chelsea are now fighting tooth-and-nail for Alisson.

And the Blues could be in pole position for Alisson, with the Reds having already spent big to bring in midfield pair Fabinho and Naby Keita for a combined total of nearly £100m.
